Repair Cafe Payneham
– One Planet Market
Repair Cafe Payneham is a free monthly, open community event aiming to reduce waste in landfills, pass on valuable repairing knowledge, and create a sense of community. It’s a place where you can bring your broken items for fixing and learn how to fix them yourself – with the help of our skilled volunteer repairers. Our sessions typically include electronic, electric, clothing, small furniture and general repairs. Please note: •One item at a time – one item is permitted per person at one time. Once that item has been completed, another item may be placed in the queue •Last repairs at 11.30am – or earlier if we are very busy •No drop-off service – visitors are expected to remain with the repairer to help with the process, if possible, or learn how it is done •Donations – Our Repair Café is a free service, but we welcome donations to help us cover the costs |

Unley Repair Cafe - September 2025 Session
– Clarence Park Community Centre
Join us for our September Repair Café session! Do you have a broken or torn household item? Bring it along to the Unley Repair Café and learn how to fix it with the help of your handiest neighbours. The Unley Repair Café is a monthly, free, open community event aiming to reduce waste to landfill, pass on valuable repairing knowledge, and create a sense of community. Our sessions are typically staffed by volunteers who are happy to help with repairs to electronic, electrical, clothing, textiles, jewellery, furniture, bike, mechanical and general repairs. We will post about our available repairers closer to the date, so make sure you click ‘going’ or ‘interested’ to stay updated on what kinds of items can be brought along to this session. Have a look at our photos for some ideas of what happens at the Unley Repair Café: www.facebook.com/unleyrepaircafe/photos/ Please note: * We are not a drop-off service - you must sit with/assist the repairer and learn how to fix your item together * One item at a time per person, to allow everyone the opportunity to participate. If you have more than one item you may be able to re-join the queue after your first item has been attended to * Last new repairs are registered at 12:00pm, or earlier if we are very busy! Our session ends at 12:30pm sharp, so please arrive well before this to enable enough time for repairs *We will have a large range of tools and equipment needed to make repairs, but we do not keep a stock of spare parts. We will have bits and pieces (screws, buttons, etc), but if your repair requires a specific spare part, please purchase before the session. If you are not sure, bring your item along and we may be able to help you diagnose the issue to determine what part you need so that you can bring it along next time * Your item must be small enough to carry through the doors, we will have a go at most items but we are unable to take on whitegoods, microwaves, coffee machines, watches or zip replacements- sorry! * Re: clothing, we are able to assist with repairs only, not alterations. * Please ensure the items you bring to repair cafe are clean. * The Unley Repair Café is free to attend, though any donations are greatly appreciated Everyone is welcome, no matter what council area you’re from - even if you don’t have an item to repair. Come and connect with your neighbours, see what’s being repaired - and maybe learn a new skill! The Unley Repair Cafe runs on the last Saturday of every month (we are closed for December). The Unley Repair Cafe is supported by Sustainable Communities SA Inc. |
